For our first night on holiday, Michael & I wanted to kick things off right, with a great meal.
We strolled along Puerto Banus port, peering into the many eateries dotted along the water’s edge.

Finally settling on Tango Restaurante.
Although an Argentinian restaurant, and therefore not really in keeping with the ‘local foods’, having visited Goodman only a few days prior, we both salivated at the thought of a repeat of that epic meal.
Tango was absolutely beautiful inside. The kind of warming & inviting, and unique yet tasteful, décor that you would expect from a family home.

It was so charming, and made all the more so by the absolutely lovely staff. Michael & I couldn’t stop singing its praises. And that was before the food arrived.

The grill is open so you can watch your hearty slab of beef being cooked to perfection.

We wasted no time ordering a delicious bottle of red, ‘Septima Malbec, 2013’ (€21.00) to pair with our steak.

For starters, I couldn’t resist reliving our Goodman experience as much as possible, and ordered the crispy tempura prawns with a sweet chilli & soya sauce (€7.50).

Although a little less ‘high-end’ than the same dish served at Sushi Samba, Roka, Buddakan and Goodman, i.e. the sauces were pre-bought, I’m quite partial to a bit of Kikkoman and Blue Dragon, especially for that price, and the prawns were well-cooked and the batter grease free.
Michael honed his inner Scot and had the pig’s blood sausage (€3.50), which he was beyond excited about when he spotted it on the menu.

So it’s a good job it delivered!

For mains, we ordered all of our steak staples.

We both chose the 300g Argentinian rib-eye steak served with chips (€18.00 each). The juicy hunk of meat was flavoursome and cooked rare as requested.

The chips were decent, crisp & fluffy, and went down a treat.

The garlic butter mushrooms (€5.50) and creamed spinach (€4.50) sides were particularly on point.

Both incredibly generous portions, each swimming in garlicy butter and delicious cream.

As for the béarnaise sauce (€2.90 each), I’ve had better, but it passed the test.

All in all, two very happy carnivores.
The bill was €87.60 without service, i.e. £64.66, which we thought was amazing for the surroundings, service, food quality & quantity (almost 1/3 of the cost of Goodman!).
We honestly could not have lucked out more!
We waddled out clutching our food baby’s and strolled the length of the port, soaking in the warm breeze & salty smells of the sea, and looking forward to the rest of our week in the sunshine.
OH Andrea now I want steak and chips… This looks amazing! Really impressed by the price as well, that’s an absolute steal!

It was just a fat black pudding, and pretty tasty to be fair, but I do agree that the name is slightly off putting hahaha! xxx
Found your blog via zomato. Its colorful and zealously written.
Lovely read, Tango’s ambiance feels very much like a pavilion. The kind of camps one finds in modern desert excursions.
I have heard about blood sausages but have never read anyone’s personal experience about it so its great to see a written account about it finally. Those things are rather rare on this part of the world.
And is that BBQ sauce on the steaks?
I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂 xxx
That is absolutely cracking value! My mouth is watering…
So good isn’t it Emma?! xxx
The Food looks INCREDIBLE! I like eating meat, so this definitely made me hungry. Even the sides of mushroom and spinach looked fantastic!!
