The best burger in London is a hotly contested topic.
With commonly cited favourites including Bleecker St, Honest Burger, Patty & Bun, Byron, Shake Shack and Five Guys (did I miss any?), I thought it only fair to give BRGR.co its fair chance to reign among the champions.
Julia & I popped in to the Soho branch (the other being on the King’s road) after work one evening for a carb-load.
The restaurant is smarter than your average burger joint with exposed brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows.

It was very quiet, especially for Soho, which I personally dislike when eating out and was also surprising considering the food was actually pretty damn good.
Julia ordered the classic burger beverage of an oreo shake (£5.00), which got slurped up in the blink of an eye.

If you’re in the market for a glass of wine, there are two options for each colour, all very reasonably priced at about £5.00 a glass (and free pour, holla!).
We took our time choosing the main event.

All BRGR.co’s beef burgers are made from grass-fed cows reared in Scotland, and served in toasted demi brioche buns with iceberg lettuce, beef tomato, red onion and sweet pickled gherkin.
After much deliberation, Julia went for the chilli brgr with fresh red finger chillies and chipotle mayonnaise (£7.50), giving a little creamy zing to her patty which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also gave the bun top marks which, I don’t know about you but in my opinion, is equally as important as the filling to make a fabbo burger.

I cheated a little with my “burger” by exchanging the bun for a side salad, but went to town on the meat by upgrading to what the menu enticingly describes as “the best burger in London?”, BRGR.co’s signature rump steak brgr blended using beef fillet, prime rib and rump (£12.50), to which I added bacon (£1.50) and guacamole (£1.50).

The end product being ABSOLUTELY EPIC.
The beef was cooked perfectly rare as requested, was incredibly juicy & tasty, with my additions of proper crispy streaky bacon and fresh homemade guac making it somewhat of a masterpiece.
Honestly, it was immense. I cannot recommend this combo more highly and, for me, as one who doesn’t go mad for burgers and very rarely orders them (don’t worry, I make up for it in a million other ways, plus, pizza gal through and through), I am tempted to say that it was in fact the best burger I’ve ever had in London, so well done BRGR.co!
We also shared sides of parmesan truffle fries (£6.00).

And old fashioned mac n’ cheese (£5.00).

The parmesan truffle fries were bang on the money. I smelt them before they’d even left the kitchen, died and went to heaven. A must order.
Though I’d give the mac n’ cheese a miss. The mac was overcooked, the cheese not stringy enough and the lack of cheesy burnt crust a little heartbreaking.
Trust me, stick to the parmesan truffle fries and you’ll be the happiest gal(s) around.
We certainly were!

To further evidence how good they were, Bekky joined us for a drink and dinner of just parmesan truffle fries for one!

Julia & I really enjoyed our meal at BRGR.co; the food really was very good though service was a little rusty with not enough attention paid to diners and the food all coming out at different times, despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty. The lighting is also rather harsh, making the overall experience a little fast food-esque, which is a real shame given the quality of the food.
I would definitely recommend visiting BRGR.co, especially if you’re a burger fan (and if you are please tell me what you think!), but it’s the kind of place that you want to drop by for a quick bite versus date night or a leisurely meal with friends.
I hope you like it!
