These superfood bites are the easiest, healthiest, tastiest snack in the world. I know that’s a pretty big statement to make, but I mean it. They totally satisfy that chocolate craving and 4pm pick-me-up, whilst also giving your body a whole host of nutritional benefits. Raw cacao, as well as being utterly delicious, is bursting with antioxidants and high in numerous vitamins & minerals; the almonds and almond butter are a great source of plant-based protein, calcium & copper, the latter two of which boost brain cell communication and the functionality of your nervous system; the chia seeds & coconut oil provide an excellent dose of healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, which improve your skin & hair condition, and the dates are rich in fibre & potassium. As if this wasn’t enough to convince you that you can eat the whole batch in one sitting, adding the optional (but recommended) ingredients of baobab and maca will really give your body an injection of superpowers. Baobab is full of vitamin C, which will give you energy and make you feel alert, as well as improving your body’s efficient use of calories from food (score!). Maca makes you stronger and boosts your sex drive… so get gobbling and ditch those processed chocolate bars!
