Banana nice-cream is the answer to your healthy ice-cream prayers! I simply cannot get over that this nicecream only has one ingredient, and it’s such a healthy one too! Bananas are loaded with potassium, which promotes heart health, and are rich in fibre & complex carbs, which makes them kind to our digestive system and keeps us feeling full for longer. Bananas are naturally sweet and provide the perfect base to get creative with additional ingredients to make any nice-cream flavour you can imagine.
Think vanilla extract, honey, berries, raw cacao, cacao nibs, chopped nuts, desiccated coconut… the list is honestly endless. Of course it’s also ridiculously easy to make and incredibly cheap compared to conventional big brand tubs of ice-cream, making it all the more appealing. I absolutely love it plain & simple sprinkled with crunchy bits, or as a side to one of my snack or dessert recipes (I think it’s particularly delicious together with my Raw Brownies) and, since it’s pure health, feel free to tuck in at any time of day. Nice-cream for breakfast? Yes please!
- 1 ripe banana
- Flavours/toppings of your choice
- Peel the banana.
- Slice the banana and place in the freezer overnight.
- When you want to eat your nice-cream, place the frozen banana slices in a food processer and blend until smooth.
- (Add any other ingredients you wish).
- Serve with toppings of your choice.
