On Michael’s actual birthday, I treated him to a meal fit for a man. Steak & chips, obviously. Goodman is often proclaimed to be the best steakhouse in London, so we thought we'd see for ourselves.
As mentioned in my review of On the Bab, Michael & I took my mum & step-dad Ollie out for a celebratory birthday dinner at Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack a few Friday’s back.
With Michael away in New York, I managed to convince my stepdad to share mum and let me keep her in London the night before her birthday, provided that she was on the first train home the following morning.
For my final day in the glorious city of New York, I planned to have a wonderfully relaxing day filled with slow wandering, a spot of shopping, and some healthy munching, before meeting Michael for drinks at The Peninsula rooftop bar and dinner at my all-time favourite NYC restaurant.
I took Michael to Yauatcha for his birthday dinner two years ago and, since he hasn’t stopped raving about it since, I thought it would be an excellent place to take him for a surprise goodbye meal before he headed off to New York for 5 weeks.
Since starting blogging I have met some really lovely people, two of which are Kam and Angie. After emailing to-and-fro about a venue worthy of our first group date, we settled on Flesh & Buns, a Japanese Izakaya bar & restaurant, which focuses on serving simple dishes that can be enjoyed whilst drinking.
A few Sunday’s back, Michael, William, Hash, and I, decided to have a ‘Sunday Fun Day’ at an old favourite of Michael’s & mine, Eight over Eight.
I have tried to book a table at Bob Bob Ricard many-a-time since first hearing about the infamous ‘Press for Champagne’ button positioned at every table. Yes, EVERY table.
